Ingredients
  • 5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp red pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup bread crumbs Whole Wheat
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
Sauce
  • 2/3 Cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder to taste
Servings: loaves
Instructions
  1. Triple grind the beef adding the dry ingredients if possible, otherwise hand mix the dry ingredients until thoroughly mixed in.
  2. Shape into loaves, pack VERY tightly.
  3. Bake 325ºF 45 mins to 1 hour. Temperature should be between 165ºF to 185ºF.
Sauce
  1. Mix together the sauce ingredients. add garlic powder to taste.
  2. Let cool a bit and slice very thin.
  3. Add to warmed pitas, you can add shredded lettuce, tomato, a few mint leaves, some raw, finely sliced red onion, and drizzle or dollop sauce over top.
Recipe Notes

You can substitute evaporated milk in the sauce but you must add 2/3 cups of white sugar and mix completely.
