Fall Tree

Changing seasons means yet another opportunity to redecorate the house. I LOVE holiday decor and the excuse to create something new in my craft room.

This year I’ve decided not to put up the ‘fall tree’. Although it’s stunning and makes me smile, it’s a lot of work when we have no company scheduled to visit this fall. Besides I’m suppose to stay off ladders after 3 falls last year.

Fall Tree

A couple weeks ago I put out some fall decorations so our house would look festive for  Canadian Thanksgiving.

Since moving to Southern Louisiana decorating for fall requires air conditioner being set to 68*, putting on pants and long sleeve t-shirt to pretend the outdoor temperatures feels like fall weather.

We always celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. Sometimes it’s with a deconstructed turkey dinner like turkey burgers with cranberry mayo and stuffing, coleslaw and sweet potato fries.

This year we did traditional thanksgiving dinner with a turkey breast and all the fixings. Mark certainly makes an incredible turkey.

Since Mark works long hours in December, we like to stick to my tradition of putting the Christmas tree up around November 10th. It’s less rushed and more time to enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.

Hint: Pinterest has tons of FREE printable art. Print on an off-white or cream card stock to give that slightly “rustic” look. We used a simple frame from Hobby Lobby.

We still celebrate American Thanksgiving but with a ham, scalloped potatoes and lots of veggies (less mess and super easy).

What fall decorations do you have up? Welcome to share photos.

Happy fall y’all!!
